Starburst Business Solutions Inc is committed to protecting the privacy and security of our clients and potential clients in accordance with the Federal Information Protection and Electronic Act (PIPEDA) and the Provincial Personal Information Protection Act (PPIP).

We recognize the right of individuals to protect their personal information. Personal information will be used for the purposes for which it was collected, or with your consent, or as required or permitted by law. Consent for the collection, retention and use of your personal information is implicit when you disclose such information with us.

What Data do we collect and what do we use it for?

For our clients and potential clients, we collect data pertaining but not limited to to your name, your business name, contact details including but not limited to your phone number and email address. This information is collected for communication only and is not used for marketing purposes.

For potential Clients, we collect basic contact information such as your name, email address, and phone number. This information is used for initial communication and is not shared with third parties without explicit consent. The information is not kept beyond initial conversations and is removed unless a potential client becomes a client.

For clients we get explicit permission to collect client information regarding your bank account information, financial transactions, and supporting documents. This information is used to communicate with our clients and/or perform our tasks for our clients and is not shared with third parties without explicit written and confirmed permission from the client.

For clients who chose to communicate via email, your information is stored only as long as you are a client. We keep correspondence archived after termination of contracts for tax purposes only and is archived after 10 years.

For clients who chose to communicate via SMS or phone we use a third-party provider – Ring Central – Their privacy policy can be found here.  Your phone number is collected for communication purposes only or to perform the tasks of the contract we are hired for.

Clients or potential clients may opt out of SMS or phone service simply by emailing support@starburstbiz.com and requesting calls and/or texts to stop.

Any payment information is collected via the third parties you chose to work through with Starburst Business Solutions Inc and will be specified in the service contract signed.

Our website contains no cookies or tracking.

Starburst Business Solutions Inc will never solicit you with marketing emails.

How we collect your data?

We collect your data electronically via online forms or via email. We may also collect your information verbally over the phone but will confirm it via electronic means.

What happens to your data once we collect it?

Starburst Business Solutions Inc is the sole owner of the information we collect for our clients or potential clients. We only have access to and/or collect information that is voluntarily given to us through contact by clients or potential clients.

We will not sell, rent, borrow or disclose this information to anyone, except where required by law. We may disclose information in some circumstances to individuals and/or corporations assigned to operate our client’s behalf or to third-party vendors as required to perform our job tasks as contracted by our clients.  

Some of our third-party providers may store or process your data outside of Canada. In such cases, we ensure that these providers comply with PIPEDA and other applicable privacy laws.

In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required by law. Notifications will be sent via email within 72 hours of discovering the breach.

Who has access to your information and how is it stored?

Only authorized staff have access to your private information in order to conduct the business for which the information was provided.

Your information may be stored on a Starburst Business Solutions Inc firewall & password protected computer. This information will be stored for as long as required and/or permitted by law, for as long as the information is necessary to conduct the business for which the information was provided, or for as long as you authorize us to have it.

Approved third-party service providers provide additional security when your information is stored online.

Updates to this Policy

Starburst Business Solutions Inc reserves the right to make changes to this policy from time to time, which will be posted on this website, and a general email will be sent to clients for any material changes that require their attention.
